SKI CROSS

Ski Cross features a course with a series of rollers and banked turns, designed to challenge skiers' speed and skill. Competitors race down the course one (1) at a time, with each skier allowed one (1) inspection run and two (2) timed runs. Competitors can compete as an individual or in a team of two (2) to three (3) competitors from your school.

The team result combines the times from the two fastest competitors (from either their first or second run), while individual results are determined from competitors best time of two valid runs.

This fast-paced, action-packed event is a favorite among competitors and is often paired with Alpine for a comprehensive racing experience.

Ski Cross is open to participants from Division 6 through Division 1.

What is an inspection?

An inspection involves a slow sideslip down the course, allowing competitors to carefully examine its features. During this time, they should identify the correct side of the gates to pass and any notable characteristics of the course. In Ski Cross, competitors should aim to stay on the short side of the triangle gate.

While inspecting the Ski Cross course, they should focus on opportunities to gain speed, such as utilizing the backside of the rollers effectively, and plan their approach to the banked turns to find the optimal racing line.
