SLOPESTYLE
Slopestyle is a judged park event that features two jumps, a rail, and a box. This event is open to high school students (Division 3 to Division 1) who are skiers or snowboarders.
Competitors will have one (1) off-course inspection, two (2) training runs, and two (2) competition runs, during which they can perform any tricks, except for inversions.
The event starts at the State level and is considered of medium difficulty. It is not recommended for those who are new to snow sports or not confident performing tricks in the terrain park.
How does the scoring work?
Each discipline is judged by three (3) judges, along with a head judge. They evaluate the difficulty of the trick, the cleanliness of the landing, the transition between features, and the variety in the run. The final score is an average of the three judges' scores. If a competitor does not improve their performance on the second run, it will be marked as DNI (Did Not Improve), and the score will not be displayed.
The team result is determined by the sum of the two highest-scoring runs.
