SNOWBOARD CROSS

Snowboard Cross features a course with a series of rollers and banked turns. Snowboarders race down the course one (1) at a time and are allowed one (1) inspection run and two (2) timed runs. Competitors can participate as an individual or in teams of two (2) to three (3) members from their school.

Team results are determined by combining the times of the two fastest competitors (from either their first or second run), while individual results are based on each competitor's best time from two valid runs.

Snowboard Cross is a fast-paced, action-packed event that many competitors pair with Snowboard GS for an added thrill.

This event is open to competitors from Division 5 through Division 1.

What is an inspection?

An inspection involves a slow sideslip down the course, allowing competitors to carefully examine its features. They should identify which side of the gates they need to stay on. In Snowboard Cross, competitors should focus on staying on the short side of the triangle gate.

During the inspection, snowboarders should look for opportunities to gain speed, such as on the backside of the rollers, and consider the best line to take when entering the banked turns.
