SNOWBOARD GS

Snowboard GS is a speed event that involves making heel and toe turns while navigating a course. Competitors race individually, one at a time, and on a dual course, racers compete side by side. Participants can compete as an individual or in teams of two (2) to three (3) competitors from the same school. Each competitor is allowed one (1) inspection run and two (2) timed runs.

During the inspection, snowboarders perform a slow sideslip to examine the course, focusing on the correct side of the gates to navigate and identifying features that could help them gain speed.

The team result combines the times from the two fastest competitors (from either their first or second run), while individual results are determined from competitors best time of two valid runs.

In Snowboard GS, competitors should aim to stay on the short side of the gate. This event is designed for entry-level competitors but becomes progressively more technical at the State and National levels. It is recommended that competitors pair this event with Snowboard Cross for an added thrill and to enhance their snowboarding experience.

The event is open to participants from Division 5 through Division 1.
