Interschool Committees

The Interschools Snowsport Championships are governed under Snow Australia.  Snow Australia is the nationally and internationally recognised National Sporting Organisation (NSO) for competitive snow sports in Australia and is affiliated with the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS), the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Sport Australia and Paralympics Australia.

Snow Australia manages athlete pathways, conducts events and runs programs in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding, Park & Pipe and Para Snow Sports. Snow Australia operates under a national unitary governance model, in which all state bodies are part of the one national organisation. National committees oversee program direction and policy development within each discipline, providing expert advice and assistance to Snow Australia program staff.

Under Snow Australia there are three major Interschools organising committees that are responsible for the delivery of the Interschools Championships:

Northern Interschools Snowsports Advisory Group
 

The Northern Interschools Committee is responsible for the operation and delivery of the Interschools events in NSW. Every second year (even year), the Northern Interschools Committee organises the Australian Interschools Championships in Perisher, NSW. Schools in ACT and QLD come under their jurisdiction, therefore being named a “Northern” Committee.
