Former Interschools athletes at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games

 

Congratulations to all the 30 former Interschools athletes who participated in the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Australian team included 13 Interschools competitors who were making their Olympic debut, along with 17 athletes who had previously competed.

Four medals were won by former Interschools athletes.

 

 

Australia’s newest Winter Olympic gold medallist, Jakara Anthony, got her start at Interschools, and won her first Victorian Interschools Moguls Championship in 2008 as a 10-year-old.

 Scotty James collected a silver medal in the Snowboard Halfpipe to add to his bronze medal from PyeongChang. At Interschools Scotty picked up many medals in the snowboard events.  

Tess Coady competed in, and won, the first ever Interschools Slopestyle event in 2016. At Beijing, she won a bronze medal in the Snowboard Slopestyle.

 

Ben Tudhope won bronze in the men’s snowboard cross SB-LL race at the Beijing Paralympics. Ben became Australia’s youngest-ever Winter Paralympian when he debuted in Sochi in 2014 aged just 14.
