NISAG Announces Pilot Multiclass Event for SUBARU Sydney Interschools Championships

Published Fri 07 Feb 2025

The Northern Interschools Snowsports Advisory Group (NISAG) is thrilled to announce the pilot of an additional Multiclass event during this year’s SUBARU Sydney Interschools Championships at Thredbo.

The pilot event will take place on Tuesday, 15 July, and is open to school-aged participants and adults (Multiclass Open Division) with physical or intellectual impairments. This inclusive initiative aims to provide a fun and welcoming environment for participants, offering opportunities to compete in either an Alpine GS or Snowboard GS event.

‘The Multiclass events are an important step toward greater inclusion, ensuring that students with diverse needs and requirements have the chance to experience the thrill of competitive Snowsports, in a safe and fun environment’ said Rebecca Clark, Community Engagement Manager, who now oversees event management

Regional and state Multiclass events welcome participants from any school or region, with no restrictions on the number of events they can join throughout the championship calendar. To qualify for the Australian Championships, participants must have competed in a previous regional and/or state event. Multiclass competitors are also welcome to represent their school within their mainstream regional qualifier events.

The 2025 Multiclass Event schedule includes:

  • SUBARU Sydney Championships — July 15, Thredbo
  • SUBARU ACT & Southern NSW Championships — July 25, Perisher
  • SUBARU State NSW / ACT / QLD Championships — August 20, Perisher
  • Mogul Ski World Australia Championships — September 4, Mt Buller

NISAG encourages schools to promote this opportunity to all eligible students and welcomes the opportunity to get more participants involved in Snowsports.
