Northern Interschools Championships to Simplify Entry Fees

Published Wed 05 Feb 2025

The Northern Interschools Snowsports Advisory Group (NISAG) will implement a new entry and registration fee structure beginning in 2025.

This initiative aims to:

·      streamline event entry processes

·      reduce the Regional qualifying events entry fees making it more affordable for the majority of participants

·      align with a unified National Interschools entry fee model.

Under the new structure, the existing $25 registration fee (payable by all participants regardless of the number of events) will no longer exist. There will be a single-entry fee per event. This change will see a progressive fee model, increasing marginally as participants qualify from the Regional Championships through to the NSW/ACT/QLD State Championships.

"Previously, the registration and entry fee structure was confusing for new families and financially challenging for those advancing to higher levels of competition. By introducing a simplified entry fee model, we’re making the process clearer and more affordable for the majority of Interschools families while streamlining operations for schools and our event management team,” said Rebecca Clark, Community Engagement Manager, who now oversees event management. “This is a significant step toward modernising the events and enhancing the overall participant, family and school experience."

2025 Entry Fees:

Perisher and Thredbo Events:

  • All Regional Qualifying Events: $62.00
  • All Regional Moguls Qualifiers: $45.00
  • All Regional Multiclass Events: $62.00
  • NSW/ACT/QLD State Championships: $65.00
  • NSW/ACT/QLD State Multiclass Championships: $65.00

Falls Creek Events:

  • SA / TAS / WA Championships: $53 early bird / $65 late entry
  • Regional NSW Qualifying Event (part of the Falls Creek Schools Carnival): $48.00

The Victorian Interschools Management Team will soon announce the entry fee for the Australian Interschools Championships.

Key Benefits of the New Entry Fee Structure:

  • Families will now pay a single-entry fee per competitor, per discipline per event, eliminating the need for separate registration and entry payments.
  • Schools will only collect fees for discipline entries, reducing confusion of collecting the registration fee at the Regional Qualifier Events or at subsequent Events.
  • The new pricing model ensures the Regional Qualifying events, which focus on participation and qualification, are more affordable and accessible for the majority of families, many who only compete at this level.

  • Reflects the competition progression to the NSW/ACT/QLD State Championships, which will reflect a modest increase, supporting event sustainability.
  • A nationally unified fee structure helps clarify event level and distinctions across competition levels.
